What is a cash match?

A cash match is a match where division winners are paid an amount depending upon their position. In our case, we are also raffling off cash awards by drawing for those people who have not won. For more information click here.

How will the cash be distributed for the match?

All cash awards will be distributed immediately after the scoring is complete, possibly 30 minutes after the last shooter finishes.

Will I need to be present to receive my cash?

No, we will mail checks if you need to leave before the award ceremony.

What stages will we shoot?

We will shoot the standard 8 stages of the World Shoot.

How are you timing competitors?

This is a level 1 match, we are timing audible to audible, and not to the stop plate hit. ROs will back the clock up if the shooter fires shots after the stop plate is hit. We will not calculate differences for the bullet speed to the last plate. While we realize that this may be advantageous to slower bullet speeds, we will not be chrono-ing ammunition, so there is no way to verify the designated speed of the bullet.

When do I need to be on the range?

A mandatory shooters meeting begins at 9AM sharp; Saturday, October 24th.

What is the Prescott Steel Challenge / PrescottSCSA blast?

An email list that will only be used to inform you of the cash match events/deadlines, as well as monthly reminders of the SCSA match we hold each month. You can opt out at any time. Signing up for this email list does not register you for the match.

What is your payout for the match?

This is still to be determined, stay tuned to this page.

How / when will the targets be painted?

Hits on each target will be spray painted after each shooter's 5 (4 for outer limits) strings of fire.

How will hit disputes be handled?

If there are 5 marks (4 on Outer Limits) on each target, then you've obviously hit the target each time. If there are not, you missed the target. Edge hits will count. Any disputes that cannot be addressed by the target, either the MD or RM will handle the dispute.

How will the match be officiated?

Each squad will have 2 people assigned as squad ROs. While these two individuals do not need to be the only people in a squad to RO shooters, they will resolve target hit disputes. They will also call either the MD or RM if there is a creeping or other penalty dispute.
